District of Columbia Real Estate Market Sees Home Sales Decline

In this week's report, the number of homes sold in the District of Columbia market dropped to 823 over the past 30 days, a decrease of 4.5% from last week's report, but still above the monthly average. On the other hand, close-by Fairfax County registered 1,644 home sales in the same period, the most of all surrounding counties. The median sales price rose to $600,000, up from last week's $594,375. In spite of the decrease in sales, a low two months of inventory signals that District of Columbia is a strong seller's market.
