To put it in perspective, close-by New Castle County registered 425 home sales in the same period, the most of all surrounding counties. Prices were able to climb as this week's reported median sales price of $189,900 continued a four-week upswing. Kent County is still a definite buyer's market, in spite of the rise in prices, thanks to the availability of seven months of remaining inventory.

On top of being the third-most populated county, it also ranks second for growth with a 28.1% increase over the last 10 years. Dover, Smyrna, and Milford are its three most populated cities.
